About

Ira Stewart Wiesner is a nationally recognized elder law attorney and founder of Advocates in Aging, Sarasota’s first elder law firm. For over 40 years Ira has focused his practice on tax and estate planning, probate and trust administration, elder law, Medicaid Planning/Asset Protection, and Special Needs Planning for the disabled. 

A former President of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Ira was among the first class of Florida Bar Board-Certified specialists in Elder Law.  He has lectured and written frequently on estate planning, pension distribution planning, and strategies for the financing of long-term care. Ira is among a select group of nationwide attorneys elected as Fellows of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys in recognition of his commitment to advocacy for seniors.
